In The Barley Barn at Slamseys
This year we are really excited to be working with local makers; we have silver seaglass jewellery from Emily Adams, chunky knits and ceramics vases and dishes from A Quiet Life, handmade soaps from The Natural Soap Company, printed gifts and homeware from Claire Wall, and ceramics from Marie Wray and Maureen Hume.
We are also focusing on our environmental impact and have chosen which suppliers we want to work with going forward. This year we reduced our single use plastic to only one rubbish bag and we are focused on displaying more glass, wood, paper and metal decorations. We are also working with Felt So Good, who make fairtrade felt decorations for your tree. We are reducing the amount of glitter on our products and we encourage you to bring your own carrier bags or boxes to take away your products.
We have replica berries, flowers and foliage including mistletoe, which are perfect for decorating wreaths and garlands. Our craft kits include Make your own Jewellery for children and Needle Felting and Embroidery kits for adults. This year we also are well stocked with printing supplies, including Permaset fabric printing inks, textil color, lino, ink rollers and printing kits.
If you’d like to give a Christmas gift or would like to treat yourself to a day at one of our Printmaking Workshops, please ask at the counter.
Slamseys Journal is packed with craft tutorials such as how to make Christmas Paper Decorations, tips for decorating your Christmas Tree and lots of information about printmaking.
This year we are also very excited to have Ivy Green Flowers running three Christmas wreath workshops. Please visit Nichola's website for further information about booking.
